Supporting Church Planting in Mexico
We’re privileged to be able to work alongside brothers and sisters right across the globe through our wider ChristCentral & Newfrontiers families.
We are excited to be able to partner with Lee Yarbrough (one of our main speakers at Devoted 2016). Lee & Stacey are based in Mexico and the team there serve 20+ churches in Mexico, several in Mexico’s big cities, as well as a good number of churches in the indigenous areas of the Pame and Otomi communities. They also serve a church in Santa Cruz, Bolivia and emerging works in Lima, Peru.
In his latest update Lee wanted to share an opportunity to partner with the team serving the Otomi people in a place called El Llano, who are looking to purchase some land to build a church base.
We’ll let him share the story:
Yesterday I had a great chat with Leonardo, one of our apostolic leaders who lives in El Bethi, and oversees several churches in the area of the Otomi people.
They continue to reach out to their people in the different villages in the area, through home groups and church planting.
One of the villages where they are planting is called, El Llano.
I’m writing to ask you, or if you might know others who might be interested, to consider partnering with Leonardo and the Otomi people, as well as myself and the Mexican churches, in helping raise funds to help purchase land in the village of El Llano in order that they can build a church building to meet in?
The total cost of the land purchase is only $6,000 U.S. dollars!! Any monies raised above this amount will go to the building project itself! And if this comes together, we’d be looking for a team to come down to help with work on the construction of the building itself. 🙂
Please pray about this and consider if you’d like to sow into a great project!
If I remember correctly, on only one other occasion, way back in 1987 or so, did we ask for funds to acquire land for a church Stacey and I planted in Orizaba, Mexico. Clark Fork City Church in Missoula, Montana provided the funds on that occasion. Today there’s still a church and school there.
It would be a huge blessing and testimony to Leonardo and his team, as well as the Otomi people, if we could see this come to pass.
Dios les bendiga amigos,
