North America Conference 2018

Advance, Training leaders October 29, 2018

Churches from across the continent gathered in Southern California this year for the annual North America conference. The group was ably hosted by Southlands Church, Brea.

The theme for each of the continental events in 2018 was Leaders that Last. Over 3 days together, leaders from within Advance’s ranks shared their stories of God’s faithfulness, insights wrought through trial, encouragement and truths from the Word. It was a vulnerable moment for many and a powerful family moment for the North American region.

Sessions included input from PJ Smyth, Alan Frow, Donnie Griggs, Bryan Barr as well as a great seminar on marriage dynamics by Milan & Kay Yerkovich. You can listen to all of the sessions online, in the Resource archive.

The gathering was lead in wonderful times of worship by a gifted group of musicians – definitely a highlight of the event.

Advance events are characterized by spacious meal times and coffee breaks. As church leaders travel in from around the US and Canada, these moments of connection are treasures. Leadership is a perilous endeavor, and having opportunities to connect with like minded peers is a big part of why we gather.
