Modern slavery: time to act
Ministry to the poor April 24, 2018
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Mother Teresa
If you’re anything like us, you might look at the fight against modern-day slavery and be overwhelmed. You might look at your own circumstances and wonder what difference you can possibly make.
It’s easy to be submerged by those feelings and allow them to prevent us from doing anything at all.
But at Hope at Home, we have great news for you!
You CAN make a difference.
We have many opportunities for you to be involved.
We are looking for hosts from all kinds of different circumstances.
You don’t need to be married or have children. It doesn’t matter if you work or are unemployed, or even a stay-at-home parent. You might have a quiet home or a noisy one. Your house may be messy or you might keep it pristine. You might be a dog lover or a cat person. Your fishing rods might take over the garage or you may fill the house with the smell of freshly baked cakes.
Hosting is for everyone with a spare room and a big heart! We train and support our hosts and guide them through the process, always with a listening ear to their questions. Check out our hosting video here.
Not everyone has a spare room and the capacity to host. We get that.
But if you have some spare time and useful skills you can still join us here at Hope at Home!
If you have skills in marketing, fundraising, social media expertise and blog writing, finance, admin or anything else you think may be useful, please get in touch. Most of these roles can be done remotely from home so will fit into your lifestyle and we can chat with you about how much time you are able to offer.
We can promise fun, support, a huge sense of achievement and reward and, of course, the odd cake thrown in for good measure.
Do you love doing crazy things? Do them with purpose and support survivors of modern-day slavery to rebuild their lives! Contact us for more details.
If you can do small things with great love and want to make your own life count, then get in touch now at Info@hopeathome.org.uk or check out our website.
