A Leap of Faith

After spending 35 years in nursing, 55 year old Nasim Strong from Buckinghamshire has recently discovered that there’s still dreams in her that God wants to fulfill.

I have been a nurse for over 35 years, and never dreamed of a life outside of the medical field. I enjoyed my job and had become comfortable in what I knew, but it was just under a year ago when God spoke to me about handing in my notice.

I knew that He was nudging me to do it, but for me I had no reason to and was terrified that there nothing out there for me-this was all I knew. I wrestled with God about leaving for some time when suddenly things changed at my work, finally giving me the confidence to do it. I handed in my notice in April 2016 and had no idea what was next! For the first time in years, I had to be totally dependant on God and trust that He is good and faithful to all those who love Him.

Ten years prior, I unfortunately battled with breast cancer. It was during this period that I started to think more about my dreams and what I wanted to do in life. Something I had a passion for but had never pursued was acting; having no qualifications or experience in the field, I decided to study for an AS qualification in performing arts. Now ten years later I am looking for work, when I get an email about applying for some Extra work in movies. I thought it sounded fun and will finally get to put my studying into practice!

Skip forward 6 months and I’m now regularly getting Extra work in adverts, movies and TV shows, even having the chance to work in Allied with Brad Pitt! And I love it!

This year has stretched my faith and my confidence and shown me how fun it is to rely on God for money, jobs and dreams! He has it all in His hands and when we step out in obedience He is always faithful to us.
